Today, on a morning news show, they were telling the world that the city of Atlanta was thinking about banning the drooping pants of its male population. I totally agree with this as I am really tired of looking at a "Plumbers butt" every time a young man bends over at the store. It is totally disgusting plus I hate to see their underwear. They have to hold them up as they walk and that looks stupid too. Where is the pride in appearance that people should have? There are a lot of women who wear skirts far too short for their figures and I wait with baited breath for them to bend over! I think it is time for all our fashion magazines to start showing "just a nice way to dress for everyday"..... knock off the stick shaped models and show the average person what are basic ways to dress for being in the public. There were a lot of comments about there being more important things to worry about but you know, no one is worrying about important things so if not lets think about baggy pants.
P.S. I found this great squidoo that I want to share. Check it out: Bad Fashion

It's so simple. If you don't like seeing people's butts or underwear, just do not look at them. This law is so stupid that reminds when it was sacrilege a long-haired man or a girl wearing pants instead of a "decent" skirt. Just live and let live, that's all
Long hair is very different from exposed flesh or undergarments.
They are called "undergarments" because they are just that - to be worn UNDER your GARMENTS!
We've all seen these signs:
NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO SERVICE
Let's add IMPROPER ATTIRE (EXPOSED UNDERWEAR & BUTT CLEAVAGE) to this list.
And this one:
"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone."
It is no new thing for businesses, schools, restaurants, clubs and places of worship to have dress codes, but it is pathetic that it has come to the point mandating "common sense" on the streets. It might be more effective if private business and public offices refused to serve people dressed like this.
Not much can really be done about it on the streets, but not having access to grocery stores, night clubs and decent employment would soon mean death to this stupid trend. So would a little knowledge about the origin of the trend.
Sometimes people are so desperate for attention that they'll do ANYTHING, no matter how stupid or tacky it may be. Sometimes they just don't understand the symbolism of what it is they are doing.
Of course people have the right to look like idiots, but why someone would think it is "cool" to dress like a lonely prisoner looking for some jail-house bunk luvin' (the origin of this trend) escapes me...
There are so many other ways to explore fashion that are imaginative, creative and even inspired. This lacks any of those elements and is the trademark of the uninspired, uneducated, uncultured, socially inept, and a complete absence of self-respect. At the very least, it is a sure sign of being UTTERLY CLUELESS. Is that really a desirable image to project?
Wow, such a simple thing can reveal so much about a person!
In the words of Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex in the City":
"Pull you pants up...Show some respect!"
